Frequently asked questions

I don't receive reminders.

Open your device settings, go to Notifications, then iLender: notifications must be allowed. For each loan, you choose how many days before the due date the first reminder arrives (the default comes from iLender's settings). iLender then notifies you on the due date, and one, three and seven days later if the loan is overdue; these overdue alerts can be turned off. The badge on the app icon shows the number of overdue loans (it can also be turned off).

I have many loans: are all the reminders scheduled?

iOS keeps only 64 pending local notifications per app. With many loans, the furthest reminders are scheduled the next time iLender launches: open the app from time to time.

I can't pick a contact.

iLender needs access to your address book to choose the borrower. In your device settings, under iLender, check that access to Contacts is allowed. The app reads your address book and never writes to it.

How do I follow up with a borrower?

From the loan, iLender prepares a message and opens Messages, Mail or Phone. You review it, edit it if you wish, then send it yourself. Nothing is sent without you.

How do I mark a loan as returned, or extend it?

Open the loan: you can mark it as returned or extend it. Extensions are kept in the loan's history.

Where did my old loans go?

Loans returned more than a year ago are archived automatically. Open the Archive view to browse them or restore them.

Can I export my loans?

Yes, as PDF and CSV, from the app, in English or French depending on the app's language. The files are created on your device and you choose where to send them.

How do I read the constellation?

It is the default view of the app's data screen. You are at the center, with your profile photo, and each loan is a sphere orbiting around you, showing the item's photo (or an icon if it has none). The later a loan is, the farther its sphere drifts: it stays close while the due date is far away, moves out as the date approaches, and reaches the edge at around 30 days overdue. A returned loan comes back near the center. The ring and the line to the center use the loan's status color: blue when ongoing, orange when due soon (3 days or less), red when overdue, green when returned. Turn the scene with your finger; it also turns slowly by itself, unless Reduce Motion is turned on in iOS. Tap a sphere to flip it: you see the borrower (photo, name, days left or overdue), with a ring in the color of their reliability. Tap the back to open the loan's details; tap empty space to flip it back; a long press opens the borrower's profile. Up to 12 spheres are shown on iPhone and 30 on iPad, the most urgent first, then a "+N" sphere leads to the Ranking. The "Include history" option also shows returned loans, and a 2D / 3D selector lets you go back to the flat graph.

How is the reliability score calculated?

It only counts returned loans: loans returned on time divided by all returned loans. Until a contact has returned something, the score shows "N/A" (gray). It is green from 70%, orange from 50%, and red below that.

Where is my data, and what happens if I change device?

Your data is only on your device. If you delete the app, or switch devices without restoring a device backup that contains it, you lose it. Export your loans from time to time. To learn more, read the privacy policy.
